Water Bowser Operator (1 Position) – JULY 2025

Job Summary

Fema Mining and Drilling Limited is seeking a skilled and reliable Water Bowser Operator to join our mining operations team in Katoro – Geita, Tanzania. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining water bowser equipment to support dust suppression, road maintenance, and other water-related activities at our mining site. This role requires a commitment to safety, efficiency, and teamwork in a dynamic mining environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate water bowser trucks safely and efficiently to transport and distribute water for dust suppression, road wetting, and other operational needs.
• Conduct pre- and post-operation inspections of the water bowser to ensure it is in good working condition.
• Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on the water bowser, reporting any mechanical issues to the maintenance team promptly.
• Ensure compliance with all safety protocols, company policies, and local regulations during operations.
• Monitor water levels and coordinate with the project supervisor to ensure timely refilling and delivery schedules.
• Maintain accurate records of water usage, delivery routes, and operational logs.
• Collaborate with other team members to support site operations and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Adhere to environmental guidelines to prevent water wastage and contamination.

Qualifications and Experience

• Valid Tanzanian driver’s license (Class D or equivalent) with a clean driving record.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience operating water bowser trucks or similar heavy machinery in a mining, construction, or related industry.
• Basic mechanical knowledge for routine maintenance and troubleshooting of water bowser equipment.
• Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including exposure to dust, heat, and varying weather conditions.
• Strong understanding of workplace safety standards and procedures.
• Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
• Certificate in Heavy Machinery Operation or related training is an added advantage.

• Full-time position with a rotating shift schedule, including weekends and public holidays as needed.
• Work is primarily outdoors at the mining site in Katoro – Geita, Tanzania.
• Personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided and must be worn at all times.
