Offsider (3 Positions) – JULY 2025

Job Overview

Fema Mining and Drilling Limited is seeking three dedicated and hardworking Offsiders to join our mining operations team in Katoro, Geita, Tanzania. The Offsider will assist in various mining and drilling activities, supporting the team in ensuring safe, efficient, and productive operations. This role requires physical stamina, a commitment to safety, and a willingness to work in a dynamic, outdoor environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist drillers and other team members in setting up, operating, and maintaining drilling equipment and machinery.
• Handle and transport materials, tools, and samples safely and efficiently.
• Perform manual labor tasks, including digging, cleaning, and preparing work sites.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
• Support the team in collecting and logging geological samples under supervision.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of equipment and work areas.
• Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to the Project Supervisor immediately.
• Participate in daily briefings and follow instructions from the Project Supervisor and senior team members.
• Assist in basic maintenance and checks of tools and machinery as directed.

Qualifications and Skills

• No formal education required; basic literacy and numeracy skills are an advantage.
• Previous experience in mining, construction, or manual labor is preferred but not mandatory.
• Physically fit and able to perform strenuous tasks in challenging outdoor conditions.
• Strong commitment to workplace safety and adherence to safety protocols.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and follow instructions accurately.
• Basic understanding of mining or drilling operations is a plus.
• Reliable, punctual, and willing to work flexible hours, including weekends and overtime as needed.
• Valid Tanzanian ID or work permit for non-residents.
• Introduction Letter from Local Government Authority.

Working Conditions

• The role involves working outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat and dust.
• Physical demands include lifting heavy objects, standing for extended periods, and performing repetitive tasks.
• Personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided and must be worn at all times.
• The role may require working in shifts, including early mornings, evenings, or weekends.
