Position: Boilermaker x 2
Contract type & Duration: 1 Year fixed term contract
Department: Mechanics
Reporting to: Supervisor

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
• Selected candidates will first go through a practical training and assessment programme before they are considered for a role as a Boilermaker, subject to qualifying as a competent Boilermaker.
• A Boilermaker is responsible for fabricating, assembling, installing, testing, maintaining, and repairing boilers, vessels, tanks, towers, heat exchangers, and other heavy-metal structures, to perform preventative and general inspection of equipment, delivering work to plan and ensure safety processes and practices are followed.
• A boilermaker shall also be responsible for casting, bending, welding, and assembling parts to build iron and steel structures and boilers

QUALIFICATIONS:
• certificate including final assessment from well-known technical training schools.
• A minimum certificate in secondary school education (CSEE) will add an advantage.
• Be physically and mentally fit to perform duties.
• Selected candidates must be able to pass a ‘site test’ before they are appointed.
• Appointment also subject to thorough medical check-up by an authorized medical practitioner.
• Experience of 2 to 3 years or more will add advantage.
• Strong commitment to safety.
• All applicants must have NIDA ID or Number and TIN Number from the Tanzania Revenue Authority.
• All applicants must have an Introduction Letter from the local Government Authority as well as a letter from his / her two referees.

MAIN OR KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Adhere to all training instructions from qualified equipment trainers and supervisors.
• Reading manuals and blueprints for work to be performed
• Casting and bending metal parts
• Using power tools and machinery
• Welding steel
• Assembling and installing boilers
• Operating and maintaining boilers
• Completing checklists and boiler logs
• Adhering to relevant regulations and safety standards
• Take reasonable care to protect his or her health and safety, and that of other persons who may be affected by any act or omission thereof during performance of duty.
• Be proactive in all aspects of operational safety and work as a team member within the mining department.
• Report faults in equipment timeously to the supervisor.
• Comply with Standard Operating Procedures and Working Practices.
• Always adhere to lawful instructions.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Good team player.
• Fluency in Kiswahili or English or both.
Be able to work with minimum supervision.
